Working with a machining client, Locher, Inc. provided a full machine tool gearbox rebuild, drawing on our extensive experience in working with spindle, machine tool, and gearbox systems. The first step in this machine tool gearbox rebuild was to remove the gearbox from the spindle and then to carefully disassemble it, removing all internal parts including gears and bearing. A full inspection of all parts was carried out, ensuring a ±.0001" tolerance.
Once inspection was complete, it was determined that the gearbox bearings needed to be replaced, which we sourced and carried out for the customer, rebuilding the entire unit and maintaining the required ratios and power. The fully rebuilt gearbox was then delivered to our client within three weeks, meeting the agreed upon lead time requirement. |
