Tapered Inserts

Locher, Inc. has designed and manufactured removable cartridges
for retrofitting Morse tapered spindle bars. These cartridges convert
the old Morse taper into the standard CAT taper using a complete 1
piece assembled unit that is installed into the original spindle bar.
An internal hydraulic actuated collet / belleville spring drawbar
system is used with an operators clamp/unclamp control. Most machines
do not require major modifications to the headstock of the machine.
This system updates older machine tool spindle bars making complete
retrofits of the old controls and drives to new controls and drives
a very affordable way to update your equipment. The unit is replaceable
without removing the spindle bar from the machine which again saves
downtime and repair costs.
